Today we’re exploring power dynamics: in particular, dominance and submission. We’re going beyond power dynamics in a sex scene, and exploring it as a model of relationship, an actual lifestyle.

I’ve invited a special guest onto the show today to share her personal experience with living in a DS relationship: the good, the bad and the ugly.

Now, for the purpose of sharing as openly and honestly as possible, she has chosen to remain anonymous.

As you’ll hear, being in a DS relationship can be incredibly isolating, especially when things go wrong.

You’ll hear us talk about:

  • Setting up and signing contracts
  • Pain vs punishment
  • Liberating sexual repression
  • Mental illness and substance abuse
  • Narcissism and egoic dominance
  • Self-awareness and self-inquiry
  • Understanding your childhood traumas/wounds and the disowned aspects of self
  • Journaling prompts to access your truth
  • Drawing the line and setting boundaries
  • And so much more!

Enjoy!

Today I’m speaking with best-selling author, speaker and Self-Love teacher, Gala Darling.

I’ve known Gala for several years but we’ve never spoken about her sex life until now.

I invited her to be part of the Kink series because, from the looks of her Instagram account, I suspected she might've been Kinky AF.

Turns out she is, however, she’s never labelled herself as being kinky...and you’ll learn why in today’s interview.

Gala and I also discuss:

  • The origins of her Kinky turn ons
  • The pain and frustration of being sexually unfulfilled in partnership
  • How to feed your kinky ways without a partner
  • The role consent plays in well-established relationships if you want to keep the spark alive
  • Shapeshifting in a relationship - the good, the bad, and the ugly.
  • Unconscious power struggles vs intentional power roles
  • What you’ll find in Gala’s kinky closest
  • The benefits of hiring a sex coach for in person sessions
  • Plus: Lap dancing, floor work, strap-ons, sex with women, rope play, dress ups...and so much more.

Also, I should warn you, there’s a lot of explicit language in this episode. More than usual - so please listen at your own discretion.

Enjoy!

As an author and speaker, Mark is in love with uncovering the mysteries of what makes great relationships work. Mark has a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology and has written for Plenty of Fish, Thought Catalog, Goodmen Project and is the Relationship Columnist for 24 Hours Newspaper.

I invited Mark on to the podcast today to help me answer a listeners question she had about dating someone relatively new who struggles with erectile dysfunction.

You’ll also hear us discuss:

  • How to navigate the challenging sex conversations (and examples of what to say)
  • What we all need to understand about male sexuality
  • What the most powerful antidote to shame is
  • The purpose of a first date and what questions to ask (and which ones to avoid)
  • Why we settle for less than our deepest desires
  • How to honour your personal standards without making others feel like they aren’t good enough for you, and so much more.

Today's episode is for those exploring open relationships and are wanting to date someone other than their primary partner.

My personal experience navigating this arena is very limited (which I share more of in this episode) so I’ve invited a special guest, Ev’Yan Whitney.

Professionally speaking, Ev'Yan is a sexual doula and sex educator who works with women helping guide them into their own sexual awakenings and recover the lost connection with their desires. Personally speaking, she’s married to an incredible man of 12 years, with 8 of those years being non-monogamous.

In this episode we discuss:

  • The evolution of Ev’Yan’s marriage
  • How to make non-monogamy work for your relationship
  • Red flags to be mindful of before choosing this path
  • What dating other people as a married woman actually looks like

Today I'm answering the following question submitting by a woman named Violetta:

"How do I know that a person is not really interested in getting to know me, and move on? How many chances shall I give them? I’m wobbly on this, and find it so hard to cut someone off when I suspect they aren’t really interested (like, it’s taking them two months to find time for a third date).

On the one hand, he has a busy life with a demanding job and three kids from a previous marriage, and he doesn’t even know me enough to decide if he wants to go deeper or not. On the other hand, isn’t it also true that when a person is really serious about dating, they make time for it?"

Tune in to hear my answer.

This week I'm talking to Bee Bosnak. She’s a Yoga and Meditation Teacher living in New York City delivering classes, workshops and retreats worldwide. Bee has also been the cover girl for several Magazines including YOGA MAGAZINE, OM YOGA, and SWEAT EQUITY.

I invited Bee to share her personal experience of dating after divorce.

Like many women I know, Bee struggled with the whole "online dating" concept {especially in NYC} but stuck it out and stayed true to her desires before meeting her current partner of 3.5 years, which by the way, started off on the wrong foot due to her interrogating questions.

Bee and I also discuss:

  • The importance of self-worth
  • How offering your gifts to the world and being of service is an act of self-love
  • A simple strategy for dealing with conflict
  • Vulnerability and the courage to reveal your heart
  • Prioritising play and so much more.

James Sexton is trial lawyer from NYC with two decades of experience negotiating and litigating high-conflict divorces. He's also the best selling author of “If you’re in my office, it’s already too late: a divorce lawyer’s guide to staying together”.

Whilst this book is written for those already in a committed relationship or marriage, I believe it’s a brilliant book to read before you even think about being in a committed relationship or marriage.

Reverse engineering a relationship can help identify and fix what doesn’t work, and that’s exactly the kind of insight and wisdom that James can offer us all thanks to many years he’s spent working on the front lines of divorce.

In this episode James and I talk about:

  • Why relationships fail AND how to avoid these pitfalls
  • The freedom of reinventing yourself after divorce
  • The need for deep connection and the importance of compatibility
  • What you need to know before looking for love or committing to a relationship
  • Why what’s fun when you’re dating could be a pain in the ass when you’re married
  • What women can do to bring out the best in their man, and
  • How to have the hard conversations.
